THE GREAT GOD HAS MADE THIS KNOWN
JOB 40:15-24
The Brontosaurus
15 Behold now the great one of the cattle that I made as I did you; he eats grass like oxen.
16 Behold now, his strength is in his loins and his power is in the muscles of his stomach.
17 He moves his tail, cumbrous as a cedar; the sinews of his muscles are entwined together.
18 His bones are heavy pieces of brass; his bones are like weights of iron.
19 He was at the beginning of the ways of God; He who has made him has caused His sword to approach him.
20 For the fruitful hills now raise him up, but all the beasts of the field may cavort there.
21 He lay down under the shade trees, in the covert of the reeds and marsh.
22 The shade trees cover him each with its shadow; the willows of the brook surround him.
23 Behold, if a river became turbulent he would not be alarmed; he would be confident even if the Jordan rushed at his mouth.
24 He would take it in with his eyes; his nose bores holes through the snares.
PROVERBS 30:1-6
The Witness of the Ancient Peasant
in the Name of the Flawless Book
1 The words of the Compilation, son of obedience, even the prophecy: So says the man to “God is with me,” even to “God is with me and so I shall prevail”:
2 Though I am more brutish than a man and lack the understanding of men,
3 And though I have not learned wisdom, yet I have the knowledge of holy matters.
4 Who has gone up to Heaven, having come down? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound up the waters in His garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His Name, and what is the Name of His Son? — for you know that.
5 Every utterance of God is without flaw; He is a shield to those who trust in Him.
6 Do not add to His words, lest He rebuke you, and you be proven a liar.
Surely the Lord knew which form down to the last letter each impulse from His Spirit would assume being committed to writing after having passed through and interreacted with the personality of the prophet He had chosen to convey it, and therefore, even though the literal sense of the impulse behind a Scriptural section can only be restored through comparison with the witness of the last book, that of Revelation, the only inspired book ever dictated word for word, yet the spectrum of emotions generated in us by the text as a whole and each of its component parts was foreseen from the beginning and is a highly significant element of its message for the elect, being a preview of the reality and joy of that other world; and truly the Old Testament was given as a series of comparatively short books in imitation of the core Scripture to be revealed later bearing the Gospel in open form in which the teaching regarding the chosen nationality is transmuted into that of the chosen social class (and so the displacement of the ancient dinosaurs by the weak and diminutive mammals is a foreshadow and representative type of the overthrow, now imminent, of the universal Babylon — though in truth it is the great collective or group spirits, and as per Revelation 14:18 and 16:5, who guide the evolutionary process, so that a sudden emergence of a new life form displaying prodigies of design and engineering well-nigh beyond the ability of man to fathom, let alone conceive, and how much more so the beings in question, will occur betimes embracing, as is now affirmed, an entire species population spread over a wide terrain, all this culminating in man, who if left undisturbed by higher
powers would destroy this world, and so represents the highest form of life that evolution can produce, declared to be the image not of spirits but of God), consisting of the letters of the ancient holy peasants that they sent in those days one to another, the letter being the simplest form of written communication and the one chiefly in use among the poor.
That the Bible is itself a standing miracle and the window looking out on the Hidden World and, in the perfection acquired by the whole from its parts, though they were given successively during a period of well over a millennium, the eternally recurring image of a reality more profound than can be known here, so that it bears the aspect of another world, being nonetheless whole and entire, is seen almost at first glance and with minimum reflection from its ability unique to itself in the world of men of predicting the entire flow of history from the time of the earliest manuscript evidence (as we may now say) to this present remote age in minute detail, including the recounting before their occurrence here of complex sequences of events and even predictive chronologies, so that the text in its complete form as we have it now and including the corrective elements contained in the book of Revelation is truly self-validating, being studded with what can only be referred to as empirical proofs of its divine origin.
We may state with all confidence that any divergence between our form of the Biblical text and the original must be minor indeed — and how much more so in view of the openly miraculous character of the Scripture, and how the hand of Providence surely rests upon it, seeing that it was given for the comfort and guidance of His elect until the close of history — even ignoring the overwhelming evidence that this is in fact so provided by the Dead Sea scrolls in regard to the Old Testament and the upwards of five thousand Greek manuscripts that have been recovered dating from the first Christian generations in regard to the New, for it is not consistent with the mind-set of a peasant people to permit change in a text received by them as a divine revelation, and all peasant societies are exceedingly zealous, as is known, in this regard; and see how a period of time as long as the entire Biblical age since the days of Moses elapsed between the martyrdom of the apostle John and the invention of printing and yet virtually no alteration occurred then. Furthermore, concerning the issue of the canon, note how the clearly delineated corpus of the Hebrew Scriptures (containing, though, brief Aramaic interludes as a sign that a Scripture was to be given later in a second international tongue, namely Greek) is accepted bodily by the New Testament authors, and how no correction in regard either to this matter or the canon of the New Testament as it had existed for an entire generation, that is since c. 65 A.D. (including the other Johannine writings as, for instance John 5:2 and the nature of I John, in consideration of its style, mood and content, as a companion treatise to the fourth Gospel, establish), when Revelation was given in 98, is to be found in that book, which yet constantly refers to the earlier sacred writings; and the prophets of Munster bore clear witness to the divine origin of this very same Protestant Bible now in our possession and of each of its parts. And therefore we, knowing that He surely has not called us to great erudition after the manner of the savants of the world, whose hope is in forgetfulness and a second death, doomed to the fire, do also receive this Bible in its entirety as absolutely true in humility, gratitude and joy, as directly from the hands of God, and as in accordance with the 131st Psalm and the automatic response to such matters of the whole company of the children of His Kingdom who have ever been since time began.
Let us add to the above, however, as though to demonstrate the profoundly reactionary nature of what is being here restored, that the spontaneously generated supernaturalistic ideology which was the Faith of the ancient peasant world, confessed for untold aeons by the elect before the children of the evil one sprouted up among them (Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43) provides the true frame of reference within which the Scripture is to be analyzed and extrapolated from (for the Scripture of truth does not innovate, but rather presents those nodal points of realization that reached the ancients from the Hidden World in a structured and miraculously validated form, purified of all distortion), rather than “the profane and vain babblings and oppositions of what is falsely called ‘science’ ” (I Timothy 6:20), even the science of these last days, for “many will travel widely about, and knowledge will increase” (Daniel 12:4), that being the culmination of the effect of the forbidden bitter fruit, fruit of death, fruit of “the knowledge of what is useful and what is harmful” (Genesis 2:17), the very gems of the crown of which are the great bombs, for “he causes fire to come down from the sky to the earth in the sight of men” (Revelation 13:13), true seed of the demigods Science and Progress, and all of them of the issue of the grotesque one, Nature, mother of horrors.
